This Privacy Policy explains what information PattaChitta ("we", "us") collects when you use this website, and what we do with it. In short: we do not ask you for personal details, but we do use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used and we show advertising.
Information we do not ask for
You do not need an account to use this website, and it has no sign-up, comment or contact form. We do not ask for your name, phone number, email address, Aadhaar number, survey number, property details, password or OTP. Please never send us any of these.
Calculators
The stamp duty and building value calculators run entirely in your browser. The amounts and options you enter are not sent to our server and are not stored, and we do not send them to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure how many people visit, which pages they read, how they found us, and the type of device and browser they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information, which includes your approximate location and a pseudonymous identifier. We use it only to understand and improve the website. Google processes this data under its own Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Advertising
We show advertisements served by Google and its advertising partners. These services may use cookies and device identifiers to show ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad and to measure how ads perform. We do not give advertisers your personal information. Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to see how our pages appear in Google Search. It reports aggregated search data to us and does not identify individual visitors.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting and capacity planning, and are kept by the hosting provider under its own policies.
Cookies and similar technologies
PattaChitta itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics (for example the _ga cookies, which last up to two years) and Google's advertising services (for example __gads and __gpi) do. Exact names and lifetimes are set by Google and may change. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the website still works without them. To opt out of Google Analytics or personalised ads, use the links in the sections above.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to government portals and other third-party websites and app stores, such as TNREGINET, TN eServices, TamilNilam and Google Play. When you follow a link, the other site's own privacy policy applies. We do not control and are not responsible for how those sites handle information.
Children
This website is a general information resource and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your rights
We do not keep a database of personal information about visitors, so there is normally nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For data held by Google, use the controls linked above. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us through the Contact page and we will look into it, in line with applicable Indian law.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles information, for example by adding another analytics or advertising service, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
